Adoption & Surrogacy Support
Welcoming a baby through adoption or surrogacy is a beautiful and deeply emotional journey — one that often comes with uncertainty, waiting, and moments of intense hope.
Families on this journey need a different kind of support, and I am grateful to walk beside them through every step of the process.
Support for Adoptive Families
Adoption can be unpredictable. Birth parents may change their minds, plans may shift suddenly, and families can experience grief, confusion, and emotional exhaustion. I provide gentle, steady support during these transitions — whether you need help preparing for your baby’s arrival or compassionate care when plans unexpectedly change.
Some families need help packing away a nursery after an adoption falls through. Others need someone to listen after a difficult visit with a birth parent. Every adoption story is different, and I offer non‑judgmental, trauma‑informed support tailored to your emotional needs and your baby’s care.
Parents often wonder what it will feel like when their baby is finally placed in their arms. Adoption brings a wide range of emotions, and every reaction is valid. Some parents feel relief or deep gratitude, some feel a quiet calm, and others feel a mix of joy and vulnerability as they begin bonding with their baby. There is no expected way to feel in that moment. Adoption is complex, tender, and deeply personal — and you deserve support that makes space for whatever emotions arise.
Once your baby is home, I help with bonding, feeding, newborn care, sleep routines, and creating a calm, confident start to your new chapter together.
Support for Surrogate Families
Surrogacy brings its own unique challenges. Parents often travel to a different city or state, unsure how long they’ll stay, and may need help setting up a temporary nursery, navigating the hospital experience, or preparing to fly home with their newborn. I support families through the birth experience, help create a safe and comfortable space for the baby, and guide you through feeding, bonding, and newborn care. Surrogacy families often need reassurance, practical help, and emotional support — especially during the first days when everything feels new and unfamiliar.
Parents also often ask, “What should I feel when the baby is handed to me?” There is no “right” feeling. Some parents feel instant connection, some feel shock or disbelief, and some feel a slow, gentle bonding that grows over the first hours or days. All of these experiences are normal. Surrogacy is emotional, layered, and unique — and you deserve support that acknowledges that.
Many families tell me they feel unprepared for the decisions they must make throughout the surrogacy process. Agencies often focus on contracts, logistics, and timelines — but rarely discuss newborn care choices, what parents can expect during the birth, or how the first hours after delivery will unfold. I help parents understand what questions to ask long before delivery, how to support the birthing person during and after birth, what the birthing person is comfortable with, what their role will be, and how the early moments of meeting your baby typically unfold.
Support for LGBTQ+ Families
I have experience supporting same‑sex couples who have welcomed their babies through adoption or surrogacy. Every family deserves care that is inclusive, respectful, and affirming. I provide guidance that honors your parenting journey and supports your baby’s needs with warmth and professionalism.
